Together with Helsinki Incubators, Nita International, and Northlink Partners, FJCC hosted a session on the opportunities and realities for Finnish startups entering the Japanese market. The event gathered a strong audience both onsite at the University of Helsinki and online via Zoom.
Speakers Niilo Kervinen (NITA International) and Mikael Malmivaara (University of Helsinki / Northlink Partners) shared practical, experience-based perspectives on how to build investor trust, secure corporate partnerships, and strategically time market entry in Japan.
The session sparked an active Q&A, where the importance of having the right networks and local partners when approaching Japan was emphasized, as access and trust are often built through existing relationships. The discussion also underlined how organizations such as FJCC can help lower the threshold for first connections and practical market understanding.
FJCC thanks all attendees for their engagement and looks forward to continuing the conversation in upcoming sessions.
