The FJCC, in partnership with FJCC member Magnusson Attorneys, and in collaboration with its sister organisation the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Japan, will host a hybrid event on the Finnish Defense and Dual Use Industry in Japan on 4.5.2026 from 9:30 to 11:30.
Introduction:
Defence is on the rise globally, with countries seeking to both reinforce and update existing capabilities, as well as develop new ones to address shifts in the field. Japan is no exception, and with a recent record-setting defence budget the country is set to become the third-largest defence spender on the globe.
Cognizant of the fact that it cannot rely solely on homegrown solutions, the country is on the lookout for suppliers in friendly nations. This naturally presents an opportunity for Finnish companies in the field which benefit from both Finland’s ascension to NATO and the country’s history of close military ties with Japan over the course of over a century.
Our event will feature speakers from FJCC members Patria, XD Solutions, HPP Attorneys, and more. The day’s speakers will be presenting their experiences as Finnish players in the defence and dual-use sectors doing business in Japan.

Practical Information
The session, open to both FJCC members and non-members, will be held on Monday, 4.5.2026 both in-person in Helsinki as well as online via Zoom webinar. The session will start at 9:30, with the webinar ending at 11:00, and the on-site event ending at 11:30.
The on-site portion of the event will be held in the Helsinki City Centre, and doors will open at 9:15.
For those joining online, a link to join the Zoom webinar will be sent 24 hours before the event.
